VTS is looking for a strategic and hands-on Senior Manager, People. In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted People Business Partner while also overseeing end-to-end recruitment strategies. You’ll be a key driver of culture, engagement, and organizational effectiveness, supporting both our people and our growth. This position reports to the VP, People Operations in NYC.

To thrive in this role you have 7+ years of experience working in Human Resources and People Teams, including time spent in a Business Partner role, along with 3+ years of leadership experience. A successful individual in this position should possess a high level of excellence, accountability, and flexibility, with the ability to quickly re-prioritize as needed. Exceptional communication skills—both verbal and written—are essential, along with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.

Being in this role, you must be comfortable working across all levels of the organization, maintaining confidentiality at all times, and balancing attention to detail with the ability to multitask. A deep understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and talent management strategies is required, as is experience with HR systems and a strong comfort level with data and reporting. This role requires someone who can thrive independently with minimal supervision, prioritize workload and demonstrate initiative, while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.

Here’s what you can expect as a Senior Manager, People:

  • Build relationships with key teams and leaders to offer thought leadership on organizational and people-related strategy and execution
  • Provide expertise in the following areas: career planning, performance management, coaching, compensation and rewards, employee relations and learning and development
  • Recommend, develop, and implement new HR processes as required to grow the business and promote a positive and productive work environment
  • Collaborate with global VTS centers of expertise (e.g., Benefits, Payroll, Finance)
  • Manage the onboarding process to ensure consistency of new hire experience
  • Conduct employee surveys and drive culture initiatives to enhance and maximize employee experience and analyze for areas of improvement
  • Provide support to employees and managers to better understand and utilize HR tools, processes and policies
  • Act as an employee advocate and handle employee relations concerns as they arise
  • Maintain knowledge of Employment Standards, Human Rights, Labour Code, and other applicable employment law and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
  • Manage annual and semi-annual review and promotion process

Pay Transparency

At VTS, we pride ourselves on articulating a clear and transparent philosophy around equitable, impartial compensation that will allow us to recruit and retain an exceptional team. The base salary is market-driven at the time of offer and is based on tier 1 market data. The salary for this role will range between $140,000 and $180,000 and is determined by several factors, including your skills, prior relevant experience, quality of interviews, leveling, and geography.
