A Software Engineer - Test's primary responsibility will be to provide technical manufacturing support & leadership in developing Turntide's new product lines, including electric motors, electronic cooling pumps & fans, inverters, battery & integrated systems. As part of the AME team you will work closely with Technical Product Leaders, Product Design Engineers, Quality Assurance, & Lab Technicians to ensure that manufacturing test software is appropriately validated to meet customer requirements. The role is based at our site in Gateshead and reports in to the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Lead.
Job Role
In this role the Software Engineer - Test will be responsible for the following:
- Design and validate manufacturing test programs and processes to improve yield
- Develop automated test scripts for product Functional & EOL Tests
- Support design, build & deployment of Production test platforms
- Ensuring that software design follows the company software and quality procedures
Experience and Skills
We’re looking for candidates with the following experience and skills, you must have experience and skills in ALL of these areas below:
- Experience in development of software using Python and/or C# programming language
- Experience working alongside and collaborating with controls and hardware engineering teams
- Knowledge of typical optimisation techniques and how to apply these to real-time systems
- Experience with formal coding standards
It would also be great (but not essential) if in addition to the above you also had:
- Working with Global manufacturing sites and suppliers
- Experience working on projects for use in automotive, or similar, systems
- Experience of software development for safety critical applications standards required by ISO26262
- Experience of software development for cybersecurity applications standards required by ISO21434
- Experience of signal processing and knowledge of associated techniques used on real-time software.
- An understanding of signal acquisition at the hardware level, with an ability to follow a circuit’s schematic layout
- An understanding of basic principles and laws of electronics
Qualifications
A degree or equivalent in the following discipline is required: BSc (Hons) in Computer Science / Software Engineering, BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent
