The Job
The Technical Engineer Manager will be responsible for the design, planning, coordination, and execution of renewable energy system installations. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You'll work closely with the sales team, installers and the operations team. You will ensure smooth communication between departments, resolving issues, and ensuring all technical requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Full Installation Oversight: Oversee the full cycle process of Solar & Battery installations including design, ensuring all technical aspects are in place for a seamless process.
- Cross-departmental Collaboration: Act as the bridge between internal and exernal teams (Sales, Operations and Installers) to resolve any technical challenges, and ensure installations run smoothly.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that installations comply with technical specifications, standards, regulations, and are completed to the highest quality.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify any issues or risks during the installation process, troubleshoot and provide effective solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Gather feedback from completed projects, identifying areas for improvement and helping refine future installation processes.
- Training & Development: Lead technical training sessions for both sales consultants and installers, ensuring that best practices and industry standards are maintained across teams.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all installations comply with regulatory and safety standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: You should have a strong background in electrical installations, with relevant qualifications such as:
- C&G 18th Edition Wiring
- C&G 2391 Test and Inspection
- C&G EV Charging Point Installation
- NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Electrical Installation
- BPEC Solar Photovoltaic + Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- IPAF Licensed
- Experience in Renewable Energy: Prior experience with renewable energy systems, including solar PV and battery storage, is essential.
- Project Coordination: Proven experience managing and coordinating multiple installation projects, ideally in the renewable energy or construction sectors.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise across departments and with external partners.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to quality assurance, with a focus on high standards and regulatory compliance.
