Job Description

We’re looking for Sr. Manager, ML to join Procore’s Enterprise AI/ML org. We are seeking a visionary and experienced leader to lead our Machine Learning Engineering team. You will be responsible for building and scaling a high-performing team of ML engineers and scientists who design, develop, and deploy impactful machine learning (ML) solutions. You will have a deep understanding of ML, Generative AI, and the ML engineering lifecycle and possess the strategic and technical expertise to define the team's roadmap, architecture, and best practices. This position reports into VP, Enterprise AI/ML.

What you will do:

  • Define and lead the strategic roadmap for the Machine Learning Engineering team, aligning with broader organizational goals.

  • Recruit, build, and lead a high-performing team of Machine Learning Engineers and Scientists.

  • Establish and maintain engineering best practices for ML model development, deployment, and operation (MLOps).

  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of production-grade ML solutions across various business domains.

  • Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.

  • Select and implement appropriate ML algorithms, frameworks, and tools to ensure efficient and scalable model development.

  • Champion innovation and experimentation within the team, encouraging exploration of new technologies and techniques.

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in the field of ML engineering and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Develop and manage robust monitoring and alerting systems for deployed ML models.

  • Ensure data security, privacy, and ethical considerations are integrated throughout the ML development process.

  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

What we’re looking for: (6-8 bullets)

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field

  • 10+ years of experience in leading and managing software engineering teams.

  • 5+ years of experience working with machine learning scientists and engineering and deploying models to production.

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering impactful ML solutions within a business context.

  • Strong understanding of the ML engineering lifecycle, including model development, deployment, monitoring, and governance.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into technical solutions.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Additional Information

Base Pay Range $205,600 - $282,700. Eligible for Bonus Incentive Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
