Job Description

What if you could use your program management skills to help develop a product that impacts the way communities’ hospitals, homes, sports stadiums, and schools across the world are built? Construction impacts the lives of nearly everyone in the world, and yet it’s also one of the world’s least digitized industries. That’s why we’re looking for a talented Principal Program Manager, Strategic Programs to join us on our journey to revolutionize a historically under-served industry.

In this role, you will spearhead the successful implementation of Procore’s most critical programs, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, internal and external stakeholders, and clients. This multifaceted role requires a blend of technical acumen and experience as well as business savviness. You will have demonstrated a track record of building and leading technology products to market. Your experience engaging with external clients, partners, and executive leadership will be essential as you navigate complex relationships with diplomacy, translating technical concepts into accessible terms. Your responsibilities will encompass aligning internal and external roadmaps and resource plans to chart the optimal path forward for Procore and its partners. Your background may include software development, technical program management, product management, or consultancy.

This position will report to the Director, Strategic Programs in our Product & Technology Department and will be based in our Austin, TX office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you’ll do:

  • Act as the driving force for strategic program execution, ensuring all members are aligned with the vision of the client(s). He/she/they is the bridge between Procore and the customer(s) for execution efforts and managing expectations on both ends.
  • Organize, strategize, plan, and drive execution of the cross-functional scope of the effort, coordinating the technical assets with product and engineering leadership to achieve program objectives.
  • Negotiate prioritization cross-functionally with multiple teams across multiple domains. Elevate to senior leadership priority conflicts.
  • Develop clear client program plans on selected initiatives – setting program goals, establishing timelines, and identifying teams and necessary resources.
  • Manage and communicate risk and potential mitigations related to customer expectations (scope, budget, schedule, quality, etc.)
  • Communicate with both internal and external stakeholders, including customers, management, and other team members.
  • Report weekly to senior leadership on the status of the program including program status, risk identification, resource utilization, program cost, and forecasts against budget
  • Deliver technical presentations to stakeholders monthly including program status, upcoming milestones, and resource utilization
  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering leadership on the program to ensure the execution plan aligns with the technical vision and customer needs for the effort.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development and technical program leadership, driving cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions to achieve business goals.
  • Experience leading teams in an Agile environment with Scrum and SAFe methodologies.
  • Experience in a consulting capacity and/or working in a B2B environment directly with high-profile customers and partners
  • Training and certifications in Project Management (PMP, MPM, PgMP or equivalent) Agile/Scrum, ITIL, Salesforce.com, Java, and AWS are a plus.
