Toronto, ON, Canada

Lime is the world's largest shared electric vehicle company. We’re on a mission to build a future where transportation is shared, affordable and carbon-free. Our electric bikes and scooters have powered 400+ million rides in 250+ cities on 5 continents, replacing an estimated 100+ million car trips. Named a Time 100 Most Influential Company and Fast Company Brand That Matters, we achieved a fully profitable year in 2022, becoming the first in our industry to reach this milestone.
Lime is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead our Payments and Trust team — two critical areas for us:
Payments: We build platforms to enable riders to seamlessly pay for their rides while managing the costs and abstracting away all the complexities that come with accepting money. This encompasses everything from the customer experience to PSP integrations, deeper optimizations and financial reconciliation — all made more complex by operating in over 20 countries with many payment methods.
Trust: We promote trust between Lime and its users by detecting and defending against bad behavior: from payment fraud to unsafe riding and everything in between. Our platforms and tools ensure users have a positive and easy experience while keeping out bad actors.

What you'll do:

  • Set and execute on a multi-year strategy to build out our payment platform, trust platform, and seamless customer experiences.
  • Manage a team of engineers, providing continuous feedback and coaching.
  • Handle ongoing relationships with PSPs and other vendors.
  • Collaborate with other leaders (product, data science, operations, finance, legal, etc.) across the company to solve complex, technical, and interdependent payment, risk and trust problems that directly affect Lime’s top and bottom line.
  • Ensure the success of projects through hands-on technical guidance and contributions.
  • Help shape the overall engineering culture.

About you:

  • At least 5 years experience in software engineering.
  • At least 2 years experience managing high-performing teams of engineers.
  • High curiosity and excellent analytical skills to uncover trends in large amounts of data.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, especially when working with cross-functional stakeholders and 3rd parties.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Preferred experience:
  • Deep domain expertise in the payments, trust or fraud space.
The anticipated salary range for this position is CA$153,000 - CA$210,000. Equity and benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, depending on the position offered. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s location of residence, the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications. In addition to base salary, some roles may be eligible for a variable bonus based on a combination of company performance, employee performance, and management discretion.
