Submeter Field Technician (Los Angeles Area)

The Field Technician III is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of submetering devices and wired and wireless internet services in a commercial environment. The role requires hands on technical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work independently or as part of a team.
This position will travel 75% of the time in the LA and surrounding area.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct advanced installation of technical hardware/smart devices following predefined procedures and tasks in everyday activities
- Escalate technical issues to more senior level technician resources to diagnose errors or technical problems to solve issue prior to leaving the property
- Supports more senior field service technicians in complex deployments
- Perform troubleshooting, parts replacement, system upgrades and deployments
- Perform part replacements as directed by internal technical support teams
- Provide routine maintenance and planned servicing of technical hardware in accordance with service agreements and schedules
- Visit construction sites and retrofitted properties to validate the installation of automated metering systems, IoT devices and access control systems to support a client paid site survey
- Establish and build positive customer relationships and assure complete customer satisfaction by adherence to the following: prompt onsite arrival time, technical expertise, knowledge of customer environment, professionalism
- Attention to detail and accuracy to record meter data in project management software [MOSS]
- Ability to follow all safe work practices including daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment
- Complete other projects as determined by manager to assist department and operations Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during installation and maintenance work. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Meet all safety requirements and attend required safety classes on job sites. Ensure all work complies with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Travel Requirements: This position requires frequent travel to various locations. Must be available to travel on short notice, often with minimal advance warning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications in electrical systems, networking, or related fields preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in one of the following Fields: Networking, submetering devices, or Construction with a strong background in low voltage work, installation services or IOT.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to track, analyze, and report on project completion.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent Troubleshooting Skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements. #LI-REMOTE #LI-JL1
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Experienced in a customer facing role, self-motivated with passion and enthusiasm.
- Polished professional - someone that loves the technology and works to hone their craft.
- Good problem resolution and analytical skills (troubleshoot technical issues, communicate, and document solutions to non-technical parties).
- Proficiency in installing network hardware and cabling, IOT, or sub-metering devices.
- Prior experience with testing, toning, and terminating cat5/cat6 cabling.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and network fundamentals.
