Stage and configure voice network devices for site installations and test to verify all devices are working properly. Responsible for Circuit Turnups and routing configuration between the vendor network and Core network. Implement and maintain Hosted PBX systems (3CX, Freeswitch, Avaya), SIP Trunks, Voice Gateways, and VOIP ATAs for customers and clients. Turn up and test new voice networks and corresponding services. Document and certify voice network installations. Interact with various inter and intra-departmental peer groups to cooperatively achieve the best results in all assigned tasks. Meet project time frames and budgets and work well cross-functionally. Maintain accurate records of available numbers in each NPA served. Troubleshoot interconnectivity to the PSTN. Configure voice network to accommodate various dialing features such as hunt groups, DID lines, Life Safety, after-hours call forwarding, etc. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network hardware issues, as well as resolve SIP issues via packet capture and call logging using tcpdump and Wireshark. Must be willing and able to work some nights, weekends, and holidays. Remote work permitted.

The position requires a Master’s degree in Engineering/Industrial Management, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial and Technical Studies, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered, or as a RF Engineer, Network Engineer, or a related occupation. The Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Industrial Management, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial and Technical Studies, or a related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered, or as a RF Engineer, Network Engineer, or a related occupation.

The position requires two (2) years of experience with the following skills: Experience with Wired Ethernet LANs, Wireless LANs (Wi-Fi), Active Ethernet solutions; Experience with data network elements such as IP routers, Ethernet switches, firewalls, etc.; Experience with IPv4 & IPv6 network technologies such as IP addressing (CIDR, VLSM, HEX), ARP, etc.; Experience with network technologies, including Ethernet LAN/MAN, IEEE standards 802.1x, 802.3xx, and 802.1q VLAN; Experience with BGP, OSPF and ISIS protocols; Experience with SIP-related protocols such as TCP, RTP, SRTP, and UDP; Experience with Session Border Controllers; Experience with BRI and PRI in a SIP environment; Experience with G.711 ulaw and G.729 codecs; Experience as an individual contributor within a Voice Provider Network Engineering group; Experience porting numbers in multiple LATAs; Experience with operating systems, including Mac OS X, Windows 10, Unix (or Unix Variants), and Linux experience.
