To meet the logistical demands from the continued growth of WhiteSky Communications, the Integration Engineering team needs an Engineer to stage, turn up, and test equipment to ensure on-time completion of WhiteSky installations. This position requires 2-3 days in the office in Northport AL.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Stage and configure network devices (including routers, switches, data plans, etc.) for site installations and test to verify all devices are working properly.
  • Create network design concepts and packages including bill-of-materials (BOM)
  • Turn up, test, and troubleshoot various types of circuits including EPL, Wavelength, etc.
  • Document and certify network installations.
  • Interact with various inter and intra-departmental peer groups to achieve the best results in all assigned tasks cooperatively.
  • Meet project time frames and budgets work well cross-functionally and be able to multi-task when needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Must have demonstrated operating system proficiency, including Mac OS X and/or Windows 10.
  • 1-3 years of experience as an individual contributor within a service provider Network Architecture or Network Engineering group
  • Familiarity with common network vendor syntax (i.e. MikroTik, Cisco, Juniper)
  • CCNA or Network+ Certifications is a plus
  • Must be self-driven with an initiative to solve issues, propose and create new methods, and acclimate to changing times.
  • Must have an affinity for troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Desire and ability to remain up to date with the latest industry trends.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
