Senior Supply Chain Manager I

ICON is looking for a strategic and technically adept Senior Supply Chain Manager to lead sourcing and procurement for critical, high-value components across our next-generation Vulcan Print System. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Phoenix program with a focus on high-dollar, complex commodities; such as motors, drives, gearboxes, encoders, pumps, and sensors and work to optimize cost, quality, and supplier performance.

You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program Management to ensure a robust, multi-source supply chain across all major systems (MGM, Printhead, MCU) and support core planning functions including S&OP/SIOP and Demand/Supply Forecasting. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical understanding, supplier lifecycle management expertise, and a proven ability to reduce sole-source risk while enabling speed, scale, and cost efficiency. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX campus and will report to our Director of Manufacturing & Supply Chain.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead strategic sourcing and procurement of technical commodities across mechanical, electrical, and controls domains, focusing on cost optimization and risk mitigation.
  • Develop and execute category strategies that align with Phoenix production needs and ICON’s long-term vision.
  • Support and enhance S&OP/SIOP and demand/supply forecasting processes to ensure accurate planning across Phoenix manufacturing systems.
  • Benchmark industry trends to inform sourcing decisions, supplier development, and cost modeling.
  • Establish supplier selection criteria and manage the RFQ process in close collaboration with Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Enable early supplier involvement to inform product decisions and ensure manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and supply chain resilience.
  • Negotiate critical supplier agreements to secure best-in-class commercial terms, delivery performance, and flexibility.
  • Manage supplier lifecycle processes including qualification, onboarding, readiness planning, and performance tracking.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues impacting production schedules, including quality, lead time, and capacity challenges.
  • Build and lead a high-performing supply chain team including Supply Chain Managers and Purchasing Specialists.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in supply chain management within high-velocity, hardware-centric industries (e.g., aerospace, automotive, robotics, or consumer electronics).
  • Strong track record of sourcing high-dollar technical components and reducing single-source dependency.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to drive DFM, cost reduction, and supply resilience.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent programs and suppliers in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working autonomously with a bias for action and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and supply chain modeling.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Jira, Confluence, ERP/MRP, and PLM/PDM platforms.
