Electric Hydrogen’s mission is to make molecules to decarbonize our world! Our outstanding people are our most important asset and will allow us to deliver hydrogen from renewable electrolysis for heavy industry, at prices below fossil fuels.

We are looking for a strong Mechanical Engineer Co-Op to work on new power electronics product development. You will work on designing new solutions to support the generation of green hydrogen and execute from prototype to production.

You will work onsite at our San Jose, CA office and report to our Mechanical Engineering Manager.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Interns will work on design and analysis of mechanical aspects of a high output power converter. This includes areas such as:
  • 3d model designs of sheet metal enclosure, brackets and welded structures
  • Perform detailed calculations, FEA analysis to justify 3D models
  • Create release drawings for production parts
  • Implement designs of high current distribution harnesses
  • Support creation of test plans, testing and implementation of fixes

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelors Degree in relevant subject area
  • Proficient in 3D modeling and CAD drawings
  • Familiar with static structural analysis, basic electrical concepts, Thermal analysis, Sheet Metal modeling, and with modeling of cast metals, plastics and other common material fabrication methods
  • Working knowledge of scripting (matlab, python) or any other data analysis tools
  • Basic knowledge of electrical fundamentals

Compensation and Benefits
  • All students will have the opportunity to develop communication skills, gain laboratory experience and benefit from a valuable experience within a start-up culture while learning about the energy industry.
  • $1,500 transportation stipend will be provided or $3,000 relocation stipend (depending on location)

$37$50 USD

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​
