CNC Machinist

We are looking for a CNC Machinist to join our team. You will support our manufacturing and engineering teams and work with a diverse set of team members to help improve our mission to decarbonize material future. You will work onsite at our Devens, MA office reporting into the CNC Supervisor.
You will work either 1st or 2nd shift. The shifts are 6:00am to 2:30pm and 2:00pm to 10:30pm. You will have the opportunity for an hour of overtime each day from 5:00am through 6:00am and 10:30pm to 11:30pm.
Primary Responsibilities

Interpret dimensioned part drawings to ensure that the correct machine tools, work-holding, and inspection equipment are selected

Operate CNC machines including making offset edits and adjustments, taking parts from start to finish, setting up cutting tools and work-holding, proofing programs, loading parts, and breaking down setups

Inspect finished or in-process parts using a variety of handheld inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, and hard gauges

Improve shop effectiveness by identifying bottlenecks and recurring issues and offering potential solutions
Qualifications

5+ years' experience as a CNC machinist with a focus on lathe and mill

Proficient overseeing and troubleshooting CNC mills for complex parts autonomously

Excellent proficiency with measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, hard gauges, and height gauges

Read shop drawings with fluency and communicate requirements set forth by the drawing

Read G&M code and edit programs

Experience monitoring machinery to identify necessary maintenance or safety issues

Comfortable using a computer for information retrieval and storage

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.
