About This Role:

Document Crunch is searching for a dynamic CFO to prepare Document Crunch for our next phase of growth while ensuring financial discipline and scalability of the business. The CFO is a critical business partner to the Executive Team and to the organization, bringing unique knowledge and perspective across the business. The CFO will be central to all growth planning and execution. Strategic responsibilities include significant contribution of fresh ideas, initiatives and growth roadmap ownership.

As CFO, you will play a critical role in managing the financial health and stability of the organization, driving financial performance, managing financial risks, and providing strategic guidance to support the growth and sustainability of the business. In partnership with the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team, the CFO will have a key focus on assessing, identifying, and executing on growth opportunities while driving revenue, EBITDA and margins. This leader will inherit a talented Finance, Revenue and Marketing Operations Team, from which he or she will need to develop a world-class software finance function, focused on supporting the next generation of growth towards $100M+ in revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting and Finance

  • Leading financial planning and analysis, including annual budgeting and forecasting processs to support data-driven decision making across the enterprise
  • Overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, audit and tax standards in compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
  • Work with division and department managers to understand financial results and use insights to own each respective P&L
  • Handle all tax compliance and work with external auditors.

SaaS KPR and Metrics Management

  • Monitor and enhance business performance through metrics, financial models, dashboards and KPIs
  • Own the reporting of critical business metrics (MRR, ARR, CLV, GRR/NRR, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of subscription-based, recurring revenue SaaS business models and revenue recognition rules

Strategy

  • Partner with the Board to develop impactful reports and effectively translate financial data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making.
  • Lead investor relations activities, including communication with shareholders and analysts.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, including banks, auditors, and advisors.

Leadership

  • Create a culture of business partnering, supporting other leaders to think strategically.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to inspire and engage team members throughout the organization.
  • Excellent perspective of what finance metrics the entire organization should understand, be kept updated on and held accountable for.

Skill Set:

These are the primary skills we’re looking for to drive success in this role.

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience as a CFO, SVP of Finance, or other relevant role
  • Previous success in a high-growth SaaS environment, including multiple successful acquisitions or exits
  • Proven track record of scaling B2B software/SaaS companies, ideally north of $100M+
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for driving growth in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Prior roles with venture backed startup businesses preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
  • Knowledge of corporate governance and equity management
  • Strong financial planning, modeling, and analyst skills along with direct, hands-on experience with financial preparation
