Aescape is looking for a Contracts Manager who can help manage the commercial and operational aspects of client and vendor contracting. You’ll be working closely with our legal team on day-to-day priorities as well as pivotal initiatives across various internal teams. This is a fast-paced and collaborative role that requires someone who is comfortable with first-chair negotiation and project management across a wide range of topics and teams.

What You’ll Do

As a Contracts Manager at Aescape you will:

  • Manage the commercial contract lifecycle from initiation to signature, including redlining, and negotiating contracts in accordance with internal & external requirements.

  • Identify and escalate appropriate issues to business leaders and/or the legal team for feedback and review.

  • Compile a “playbook” of pre-approved language to respond to common revisions proposed by third-parties.

  • Maintain a comprehensive database of all commercial contracts, including key terms, renewal dates, and obligations.

  • Monitor existing contracts and facilitate contract changes and terminations as needed.

  • Continuously explore best practices and new innovative ways to support the commercial contracting process.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (including legal, sales, operations & finance) and external parties to facilitate contract negotiations and other projects of the legal team.

  • Support the legal team with other administrative tasks as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • 4+ years of experience in a role involving contract negotiation directly with counterparties.

  • BA or BS in business, engineering or related field; JD and/or MBA is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of contract law and legal terminology. Extensive proficiency in reviewing and negotiating vendor contracts, with a specialized emphasis on Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Subscription Agreements, Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).

  • Experience working within e-signature platforms and one or more contract lifecycle management systems (Jira and ContractSafe is a plus+).

  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to wrangle internal and external stakeholders to meet deadlines.
