As a Software Engineer at Modern Animal, you will contribute to the full-stack development of our cutting-edge software solutions. This role involves working on a full-stack platform to support our Members and our Veterinary team. You will play a key role in shaping the future of veterinary care by improving our internal tools and member experiences.

This is a long-term, open-ended contractor position with no fixed end date. We value long-term relationships with our team members and aim to build a lasting partnership that supports Modern Animal’s mission and growth. While the contract does not have a predetermined end date, it includes provisions for regular reviews and mutual agreement to ensure ongoing alignment and satisfaction on both sides.

This role requires close collaboration with our teams based in the United States and Latin America. To foster effective teamwork and communication, we are looking for candidates who can work within a Pacific Time Zone (PT) schedule, plus or minus 2 hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, implement, manage, test, and evaluate software solutions for Modern Animal's web and mobile applications and backend services.
  • Develop using React with TypeScript, React Native, and Python Django, aligning with Modern Animal's standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to a collaborative environment, communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Actively learn and integrate new technologies, including GraphQL, Celery, and various AWS tools and services, to enhance our applications and services.

The pay range for this position is $ $1,350 to $1,550 per week; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and equity grant units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the California Pay Transparency Act. Base pay information is based on geographic location.
